Call to the Clans

Hark, awaken and heed now your clan’s call,
Sieze helm and harness, take up thy sword,
War is come, a thief in night to hearth and hall
Forth clansmen, to arms to war for lands and lord

Hallowed hills of emerald, fair and green,
Purest waters of shimmering sapphire blue,
No fairer freer lands shall ere be seen
Nor hearts greater more valiant and true

What fool, what knave shall arise to roil
Our tranquil lands and generous hearts,
To take that earned by good honest toil
And feel the wrath of warriors arts?

Arise ye clans to anger, hearts sore enraged,
With valor, with might, shall battle be waged.

Alchemy of Love

Canst thou feel the music soaring sweet
and unbounded joy of this song-lit heart?
Truly blessed, with fortune full replete,
cup brimming with all life may impart.

I am sore unworthy of such favor,
a man of the most base common clay.
Why give me this sweet cup to savor
to wonder when it will be dashed away?

How can fortune favor this unworthy man,
bestowing a heart so wondrous and fair?
What whim of providence crafted this plan,
blending gold and dross to an alloy so rare?

In our pairing sweet alchemy combined
something so different yet purely refined.

A Giving Heart

Deep within my world-weary heart I know,
those that I love are locked fast to my soul,
before I would see their tears sadly flow,
I would give my own blood to pay their toll.

Never hold back and no half-measure,
fortune and life and all I hold dear,
my all and more to those I treasure,
protecting them all from want and fear.

Pity the miser that hoards heart or gold,
a fool thrice damned to be callous and cruel
for love bestows blessings fair to behold,
a wondrous treasure finer than jewels.

Give freely of all that you are my friend,
the rewards are countless, never to end.

My Wish for Life

Let me be as proud of my failures as I am my triumphs,
I would not be the person I that I am without both,
For failure has built my strength and character,
Without failure I would have not known triumph.

Let me accept with equal measure the joys and sorrows of life,
I would not be the person I that I am without both,
I would not know the sweetness of one save for the bitterness of the other,
Sorrow has tested my spirit and built it stronger than ever before.

Let me be weak and strong and to do each of these in their own turn,
I would not be the person I that I am without both,
For truthfully facing my weaknesses shall always make me stronger,
And as I master my weaknesses let me master my strength.

Let me know hate so that I may always know love,
I would not be the person I that I am without both,
Hating that which is foul makes me love even more that which is fair,
With love shall I ever master my anger toward the struggle toward right.

Let me accept that life lies before me, the past is now behind,
I would not be the person I that I am without both,
For the past is set and has built in me some measure of wisdom,
The past is the foundation that I build my future each day.

Let me know all of these things and know each in its measure,
I would not be the person I that I am without all of these things,
But let my joy, strengths, wisdom, love and future be worthy to share,
For it is though the friendship and love of others that I shall at last be whole.
